Diesel spillage closes further lane following two-lorry crash north of Stamford
Emergency services are now on the scene of a collision between two lorries on the A1 at Grantham.
The crash happened just before 6.30am this morning (Wednesday) northbound, closing the carriageway.
One southbound carriageway is also closed due to a diesel spillage, which is being dealt with by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue. Crews are also using an environmental protection kit to prevent fuel entering nearby drains.
Traffic is being diverted through the A52 junction.
Lincolnshire County Council's executive councillor for highways, Richard Davies, has this morning tweeted about the collision, highlighting the "need to improve this stretch of road as a matter of urgency".
