Donated bird boxes at Bourne Wood a success

Have your say

The Friends of Bourne Wood are celebrating after bird boxes, which were donated last year by the Len Pick Trust, had a successful year.

Although the bad weather in April and May meant some nests were lost after young were chilled by wet parents, there are still 23 successful blue tit nests and eight great tits which have been protected by the special woodcrete boxes.

The Friends were also very excited that one of the boxes was used by a Nuthatch which is the first recorded use in Bourne Wood.
