Deeping St James man disqualified from driving

Arrests have been made and punishments issued after people were caught drink driving in the county.

Police are working hard to tackle the issue as part of their annual crackdown and are asking drivers to rethink getting behind the wheel after consuming alcohol.

Eight people have been disqualified from driving this week after being caught drink driving by Cambridgeshire Police.

This included a 24-year-old man who crashed in Old Leicester Road, Wansford on Saturday (December 4).

The man from Chelmsford, Essex was found to be more than twice the legal limit after providing a breath sample of 88.

He appeared in court yesterday (December 8) and was disqualified from driving for one year and eight months. He was also fined £500.

A Deeping St James man was also handed a driving disqualification after being arrested last month.

The 29-year-old man was stopped in Taverners Road, Peterborough after officers suspected too many people were travelling in the vehicle.

He gave a roadside breath sample of 91 and on Friday (December 3) was disqualified from driving for a year and five months and fined £120.
