Man leaving religious festival at Rutland Showground stopped on A46 near Stratford-upon-Avon for having stolen caravan




A man leaving the religious festival in Rutland have been stopped for having a stolen caravan.

Warwickshire Rural Crime Team said that the caravan was stopped on the A46 near Stratford-upon-Avon, initially because it had faulty lights and no registration plate.

The team said: "However after conducting some further checks it was discovered to be a stolen caravan that had been taken from the Brighton area in 2018.

"The driver and his partner were travelling back from a Christian festival in Leicestershire and were very distressed to find out they had purchased a stolen caravan some years prior.

"We will be making further enquiries to ascertain exactly how they came to be in possession of the caravan."

Police urged people to conduct the appropriate checks with CRiS, the National Register for UK caravan keepers, before buying a caravan and after purchasing, make sure your details are added to the Cris registration.
