Driver stable after crashing into tree near Whissendine

A man who was seriously hurt when the car he was driving crashed into a tree is now in a stable condition in hospital.

The crash happened in Oakham Road, near Whissendine, at about 12.30pm on September 15. The man, in his 20s, was driving a green Fiat Punto which left the road and crashed into a tree.

He was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in a critical condition, but he is now stable.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who may have been in the area, in particular in any farming vehicles that may have been travelling through at the time, to contact them.
