Driver who died in Rutland crash named as Lyddington man Clifford Knapp, 69

Police have named the driver who died in a car crash in Rutland as Clifford Knapp, 69, from Lyddington.

Mr Knapp was driving a white Vauxhall Corsa in Manton Road, between Manton and Edith West, when it crashed at about 11.30am yesterday (Tuesday, November 10).

Emergency services were called but sadly Mr Knapp was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicle was involved in the crash.

The road was closed while initial enquiries were conducted and officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened. Witnesses should call Detective Constable 1761 Pete Davies on 101.
