Drivers stuck for an hour at Tallington level crossing because of barrier failure
Drivers were stuck at Tallington level crossing for an hour this morning (Monday, January 25) because of a barrier failure.
A fault with a piece of equipment on one of the barriers happened just before 9am, meaning the barriers were left down. It was working correctly by 9.55am.
Roger Battle, level crossing manager for Network Rail, said: “We’re sorry for any disruption passengers, drivers, cyclists or pedestrians faced this morning at Tallington level crossing.
“There was a fault with a piece of equipment on one of the barriers just before 9am. This meant the barriers were in the down position for the safety of passengers and people using the level crossing. It was working correctly by 9.55am.
“Our teams are on site carrying out work to replace the equipment and this will not impact on train services.”
