Secretary of state for education Nadhim Zahawi has called two schools he visited today (Friday, May 6) 'inspirational' and said they are 'exactly what I want to see around the country'.

The Tory minister was taken around Harington School, Oakham's sixth form, and Catmose College secondary school next door. Both are currently rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted.

Arriving in a ministerial Jaguar, Mr Zahawi said he believed it was the first time an education secretary has visited Rutland, adding that he was excited about speaking with pupils.
