PUPILS dressed up as kings and queens to celebrate the diamond jubilee.
Children at Brooke Hill Academy in Oakham had a special history week last week to coincide with the Queen’s jubilee and visit to Burghley House in Stamford.
They learned about the history of the monarchy and what it means to Britain. They also learned about the current members of the Royal Family.
On Wednesday last week Year 6 pupils were lucky enough to be invited to the jubilee picnic event at Burghley House, which was attended by the Queen herself.
The remaining pupils had a picnic of their own with crowns and bunting.
Finally, on Friday the whole school dressed up as historical figures, kings and queens and characters representing each decade of the Queen’s reign.
