Schoolchildren have been burying their noses in a range of new and exciting books following the official opening of their new school library.
Pupils at Bluecoat Primary School in Stamford enjoyed an opening ceremony on Monday this week.
They were joined by the president of the Rotary Club of Stamford Burghley, Tony Palmer, after the organisation donated £6,000 towards the cost of the project.
Mr Palmer said: “When we heard that funding would be needed to open a new library at the school, we were delighted to be able to help.
“The funds have been raised from events such as the Victorian Cricket Festival and the Stamford Santa Fun Run.”
Mr Palmer cut a ribbon to officially open the library.
School headteacher Carol Hines is thrilled with the new facilities for her pupils.
She said: “Our new library is a fantastic facility with up-to-date technology which will motivate our children in their learning.
“We are all very excited about the library developments.
“We are very grateful for the support of all who have contributed their time and funds to this project, especially to the Rotary Club of Stamford Burghley for their very kind donation.”
The club has also supported Stamford Library.
