As part of Healthy Week, Year 1 pupils at Bourne Abbey Primary Academy have been busy thinking about food and where it comes from.
The children harvested broad beans from the school kitchen garden and used them to make a delicious broad bean and chorizo risotto.
The children really enjoyed popping the beans out of their pods and adding them to their tasty dish.
Pupils also walked to Tesco Stores in Bourne where they took part in a ‘Farm to Fork’ visit with Community Champion, Sherrill Harrison. On the tour, the children visited the bakery, fish counter, the delicatessen and the ice cave!
