PUPILS at Oundle School produced the school’s best ever results at GCSE level.
Staff and pupils at the school are celebrating after two school records were beaten in 2012, with 86 per cent of grades achieved at the school either an A* or A grade, and more than 54 per cent of grades awarded an A*.
Male pupils at the school also had their best ever year with more than 50 per cent of their grades at A* level for the first time.
Headteacher Charles Bush said: “These results are outstanding and represent tremendous achievement across the whole curriculum. I am particularly pleased that well over half the grades awarded were at A*.
“This cohort of pupils worked extremely hard and fully deserve these record-breaking results. Coupled with the excellent performance of Oundle’s A-level candidates last week, these results confirm Oundle’s position as an academic leader within the independent educational sector.”
Performance was strong across all subjects with 62 per cent of pupils achieving A* in math, 64 per cent in the sciences and 68 percent in religious studies.
