A Rutland school welcomed musicians from all over the world for a festival.
Wilds Lodge School, near Empinghham, held its 5th Music and Arts Festival. All schools in Rutland and Stamford were invited to the free event, which featured workshops such as African drumming, and Gamelan music.
Local artist Sam Rodden from Art Pop Up created a Borrowers world with the children, Jed Jaggard from Up and At Em History ran a Tudor display with hands-on elements and the Red Arrows display team gave children the chance to try on uniforms and helmets.
Special guests included Lady Wendy Goldwing, mayor of Stamford Sue Sandall, RAF Wittering station commander Group Captain Richard Pratley, and High Sheriff of Rutland Andrew Brown.
The next festival will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016, and the school is already taking bookings. Any school interested in attending or taking part on stage should contact Darren Rawnsley at email@example.com or 01780 767254.
