TEENAGERS had the chance to try their hand at bowls.
Ten students with learning difficulties or disabilities on New College Stamford’s skills for work and living course were offered the chance to learn the game at Stamford Town Bowls Club.
Club chairman, Len Marshall, said: “During a recent game against Peterborough, one of their young players had Down’s syndrome.
“This prompted me to think what else we could be doing, as a club, to show that bowls is a game which appeals to all ages and abilities.
“I was delighted when the students from New College Stamford accepted our invitation to come and try the game.
“It’s great to be able to get involved promoting sport to young people in this exciting Olympic year.”
