A new headteacher has stepped into take charge of two primary schools in Bourne.
Taking on the role of executive headteacher at Bourne Abbey and Bourne Elsea Park primaries, now collectively known as the Abbey Academies Trust, is Sarah Moore who started in her new role last week.
She follows in the footsteps of her mother Cherry Edwards, who retired at Christmas. She had been in charge for 12 years, leading Bourne Abbey to be judged as “outstanding” by Ofsted inspectors and being an integral part in the formation of the Elsea Park primary.
Mrs Moore said: “I’m looking forward with both excitement and anticipation to all the fantastic things that we can achieve in the coming months and years.
“I am confident that this year will be hugely successful, both on whole school and individual levels.
“We shall be continuing to work hard to provide the vibrant, high expectation, caring, varied and fulfilling experience our children deserve.”
Mrs Moore said everyone at the Abbey Academies Trust knew they had schools to be proud of.
She said: “People who visit both Bourne Abbey and Bourne Elsea Park regularly remind us what fabulous schools we have and how polite, spirited and confident our children are and how positive the atmosphere is.
“This is the result of ‘team’ efforts: pupils, parents and carers, staff, governors and the whole school community working together.”
She said she was looking forward to meeting the parents of the children who had already made her feel right at home.
Mrs Moore added: “We will all be working together as a family to make sure our schools continue to be caring and special places to learn, where children will gain a positive self-image to help them on their path as successful, happy, life-long learners.”
