YOUNGSTERS have been given tips on Olympic activities they could hold at their schools.

South Kesteven District Council and the charity Inspire+ have teamed up to help schools celebrate this summer’s London 2012 Olympics.

Now they have held a training day at The Deepings School for schools’ young ambassadors – pupils who have been selected to spreahead their school’s Olympic celebrations

Clare Ladley, community schools sports co-ordinator for Bourne and the Deepings, said it went really well.

She said: “It was fantastic. The training was held to give them ideas for possible activities they could hold on the day they have their Olympic celebrations, as well as an outline of an assembly presentation they could give.”

The aim of the celebrations is to help children learn the Olympic and Paralympic values of personal excellence, respect, inspiration, determination, equality, courage and friendship.

Pupils attending were from Bourne Westfield Primary Academy, Bourne Abbey Primary Academy, Langtoft Primary School, Linchfield Primary School, Market Deeping Primary School, Baston Primary School, Morton Primary School, Edenham Primary School, William Hildyard Primary School, Billingborough Primary School, Horbling Primary School, The Deepings School and Bourne Grammar School.
