A SCHOOL is offering a glimpse into the world of teaching with a special course.

The Deepings School ran a successful pre-teaching course for anyone interested in pursuing a career in education.

It attracted sixthform pupils from the school, parents and teaching assistants.

The course was run in conjunction with Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln, and was so popular there is already a waiting list for the next one.

Participant Jackie Kerley said: “I found the information invaluable. Everything was delivered in a way that kept everyone’s attention and meant we looked forward to coming back each week.”

Topics included theories behind teaching and behaviour management skills. It included 12 hours of teaching and lesson observation and an assignment.

Anyone interested in taking part in a future course should e-mail for more information.
