A pupil at Oakham School has showcased her talents to win a prestigious European harp competition.
Elizabeth Bass, 18, was one of 39 harpists from around the continent to take part in The Lyon and Healey Award competition in Cardiff.
Her outstanding ability was recognised and she became the youngest competitor to win one of the four awards of £2,000.
Elizabeth plans to use the award to further her musical education.
The competition was the centrepiece of a three-day International Harp Festival held at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
Elizabeth said: “It was a hugely inspiring three days. Playing in the competition and in the final recital in front of a packed audience of professional harpists was hugely nerve-wracking but I was overjoyed to be chosen as one of the winners.”
