A footpath on the Elsea Park housing estate in Bourne is to close for a year while new homes are built.

The path, close to Wherry’s Spinney, will be diverted while Kier Living builds the next phase of the development.

Work on the latest phase is due to begin on September 1.

Residents will be redirected around the closed path while the work is taking place.

Kier has written to affected residents and has put up maps showing the diversion route around the estate.

As part of the planning application for phase five of Elsea Park, a new foot and cycle path will be built alongside the western edge of Wherry’s Spinney to make access through the estate easier for residents.
