Homeowners are urged to dispose of cooking fat responsibly to avoid blocking drains.

Anglian Water is asking people to let their fat cool and solidify before scraping it into the bin rather than pouring it down the sink.

The company clears 35,000 blockages each year which costs more than £7m. More than half of them are caused by solidified fat blocking the pipes. Blockages can be reported on 08457 145145.
