South Kesteven has voted to leave the EU

South Kesteven has voted to leave the European Union, reflecting the picture nationally.

A cheer rang out from supporters of the Vote Leave campaign as South Kesteven District Council’s returning officer Beverly Agass announced the result shortly before 6am this morning (Friday), at The Meres Leisure Centre in Grantham.

Leave gained 59.9 per cent of the vote compared to 40.1 per cent for remain.

Remain 33,047

Leave 49,424

The turnout was 78.2 per cent.
