Becky Mills performs at Morton Village Hall
Becky Mills was truly excited to perform her songs to a receptive audience at Morton Village Hall on Saturday, September 7 - a full crowd that hung on every word and note.
It was Becky’s second appearance at Morton, she was here in October 2016 in the company of Ashley Hutchings, but returned for a true solo performance (OK, her husband switched the lights on and off and offered emotional support from the side of the hall!).
Her warm introductions to her songs gave great insight into her lyrics.
Many songs are written around members of her family, from her son to great-grandparents, and other people who have inspired her along the way.
Her passion and humour twinkled throughout, just like the fairy lights that kept her company on the stage.
In addition to songs from her two CDs - Dandelion from 2013 and Tall Tales and Home Truths released earlier this year - there was a reminder of her time with “girl group” Waking The Witch, plus covers of songs by Sandy Denny, June Tabor and The Eurythmics.
All in all, a magic mix and a splendid evening that went all too quickly.
Hopefully Becky will make the journey from Pickering, North Yorkshire to visit us in South Lincolnshire again.
