Event for sufferers of crohn's and colitis will be held in Uppingham

A Crohn's sufferer has planned an event for people who suffer with the disease.

Helen Swift, who lives in Rutland, says her nearest support group run by the charity Crohn's and Colitis UK, is in Leicester and although she travels for events, fundraisers and talks, some people may not be able to.

She has organised an outreach event, which will take place in Uppingham at The Orchard Cafe at Welland Vale Garden Centre on Tuesday (October 23) from 10am to 2pm.

She said it would be an opportunity for people to make contacts locally for advice, support and friendship, over a coffee and a cake.

She said: "Feel free to drop by at any time and have a coffee and a slice of cake with us. We will have plenty of Crohn's & Colitis UK information and we'll be available to talk all and everything IBD! We hope to have a few other Crohn's and Colitis UK members drop by, so there will be plenty of opportunity to talk to others affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease."
