Evergreen Care Trust looking for volunteers to help deliver lunch service

The Evergreen Care Trust, which provides services for people in Stamford and Bourne, is currently looking for volunteers to help deliver lunch to people’s homes in Stamford.

The service Hot and Wholesome food delivery was launched as a response to the closure of the Royal Voluntary Service’s Meals on Wheels.

The trust provides a light and nutritious home-made lunch to people unable to make their own.

Deliveries are made by teams of two volunteers who visit homes and ensure that they have everything to hand. Deliveries include hot soup and a roll, with a small piece of savoury baking and a slice of cake or fruit.

Members well-being is vital to the trust and they were pleased to hear from a recent customer that the delivery of food has helped her to recover from a period of ‘severe weight loss’. A friendly face and some home-cooked food can make all the difference.

If you would like to make a difference and are interested in joining the team of volunteers at the Evergreen Care Trust please call 01780 765900.
