The Evergreen Care Trust in Stamford has thanked all those who contributed to its team’s efforts at the Deepings Raft Race.

Wendy Brown, Sarah Sharples, Meg Lewis, Emma Holttum, Louise Marsh and Rosie Maclennan, from the trust and pictured above, managed to float their raft down the river as part of the event on Sunday, August 7.

The trust, which helps more than 600 elderly and vulnerable people across Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings, raised £542 by getting businesses to sponsor balloons on their raft, which was themed on the Disney Pixar movie UP in line with the event’s film theme.

Louise Marsh, CEO of Evergreen, said: “We were pleased to be part of such a well organised and fun event and any volunteers who would like to register an interest in getting involved next year would be great.”

She particularly thanked Wendy Brown and Tom Allen for building the raft and all the companies that sponsored balloons. Special thanks to Deep in Balloons, of Deeping, for supplying the balloons and assisting on the day.
