Exploring energy

PUPILS spent their half-term break in Iceland as part of a geography trip.

GCSE and A-level pupils from The Deepings School travelled to the country to appreciate the landforms they had studied in class, as well as develop a greater appreciation of the country and nature.

During the trip pupils visited the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa and a power station to understand how renewable energy is created for Reykjavik and the surrounding area

They also visited Geysir, where they waited in anticipation with their cameras as the hot springs spouted into the air every four minutes and visited three waterfalls, one of which gave them the experience of being able to walk behind its 60 metre drop.
