Explosive start to campaign in Morcott

Have your say

A VILLAGE fireworks display started a fundraising campaign with a bang.

Ian Williams and Michelle Bennett took over The White Horse in Morcott in August and held a fireworks party last weekend and raised £720 at their first fundraising event.

Entry was free but volunteers from the village went around with buckets collecting change in aid of the newly formed Jon Egging Trust.

Profits from the barbecue also went into the charity pot.

Flt Lt Egging from Morcott was a Red Arrows pilot who died in a crash at Bournemouth Air Festival in August.

Michelle said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who volunteered and helped out on the night, especially Dan Gill whose company Rapid Drop sponsored the event.”
