Rutlanders could appear on screen at the Cannes Film Festival if a locally-produced film makes the cut.

Directors from The Full Metal Package set up in the county last week to record scenes for A Sober Dance.

The film explores post traumatic stress disorder and the coping mechanisms adopted by soldiers and civilians during wartime.

Oakham Castle hosted the crew on Sunday for the final day of filming.

Creative director Owen Hurrell said: “We had some troubles along the way but the bad times were far outshone by the good.”

He hopes to secure a slot at the Cannes Film Festival.
