Caldecott farmer teams up with LEAF to offer virtual lessons

A farm is offering virtual learning opportunities to pupils around the country.

Andrew Brown, who owns a farm in Caldecott, has teamed up with LEAF to offer virtual lessons and question and answer sessions to pupils in lockdown.

He said: “I have been doing school visits for about 25 years but it’s still quite nerve-racking five minutes before. You never know what the kids will ask, especially the young kids.”

Andrew added: “They don’t know anything about farming or food production, which is not their fault as no one has told them. It’s up to farms and the industry to tell them about the crops and the wonderful food we grow.”

Andrew has encouraged teachers to get in touch with him by e-mailing twbfarms@aol.com to organise a virtual lesson, or to visit leafuk.org/farmertime/home.
