Faster, higher, stronger with Paralympian Sam at Deeping St James school
Linchfield Community Primary School is inspired to go for gold after a visit from Paralympian athlete Sam Ruddock (pictured with pupils Katie Marsh and Kyle Roberts).
Youngsters and staff at the school in Deeping St James learned about Sam’s determination to succeed on the athletics track despite having cerebral palsy, which affects coordination and balance, as a child.
Sam is a true inspiration who has achieved so much in his life
Headteacher Andy Fawkes said: “Sam was a true inspiration who has achieved so much in his life.
“I would have been surprised if any of our children hadn’t gone home and told their parents about him, especially when he asked them to set their own goals.
“In return, Sam would try his best to bring back a medal from the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in September.”
