A group of villagers is replacing a 20-year-old event with one that promises to be ‘bigger and better’.

After it was announced that Morton and Hanthorpe Street Fair, which started in the year 2000, will no longer be going ahead due to the retirement of its organisers, a new committee of volunteers formed and decided to come up with a fun replacement.

The group, called Morton and Hanthorpe Events, has decided on a new fete, which will take place on Saturday, July 9.
