The notice of election was published today (June 9) and prospective candidates have until Friday next week (June 17) to submit their application.

The by-election will be held on July 14.

This will be the fifth by-election to take place in the past year following the resignation of Miranda Jones, Richard Coleman, Adam Lowe and Nick Woodley.

The new leader of the council, Lucy Stephenson, put a number of the resignations down to a previous lack of unity in her first column in the Rutland and Stamford Mercury.
