A film about a Rutland woman's epic journey around the world will be screened at Rutland County Museum on Thursday




A feature film of one woman’s epic journey will be screened at Rutland County Museum, in Oakham, on Thursday, January 16.

Rower and adventurer, Sarah Outen set off in her kayak from Tower Bridge for France on April 1, 2011. Her aim was simple: to circle the globe entirely under her own steam, cycling, kayaking and rowing across Europe, Asia, the Pacific Ocean, North America, the Atlantic Ocean and eventually back home.

Her expedition, London 2 London: Via The World took four-and-a-half years to complete.

The film, Home, was released in October. Sarah will attend the screening and will be happy to answer audience questions about her amazing journey.

Sarah is a well-known adventurer by land and sea, an author and motivational speaker who is candidabout her mental health issues.

This event has been organised by Arts For Rutland. The doors and the bar will be open from 7pm andfilm starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 from Oakham Wines, www.wegottickets.com or on the door.
