Final push for voters to register before poll

Potential voters in Bourne and the Deepings are being reminded to make sure of their chance take part in next month’s Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner election.

South Kesteven District Council is advising people to register online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and then complete the register form before the deadline of Monday, April 18.

The elections for a new Police and Crime Commissioner for the county to succeed Alan Hardwick takes place on Thursday, May 5.

But anyone who is not registered to vote will not be able to take part and cast their vote.

Beverly Agass, the council’s electoral registration officer, said: “Anyone not yet registered to vote should do so as soon as possible so they can have a say at the forthcoming elections.

“I would urge residents to spread the message among your family and friends that it only takes minutes to complete the form and register to vote online.”
