Alex Meacock, who lives nearby, said: "The smoke was epic.

"They put the fire out themselves.

"We saw the staff running back into the building with fire extinguishers."

Crews and officers will be investigating the site to see how the fire was caused.

It follows an incident last month when an employee was involved in a chemical spillage and a methanol explosion in November.

Residents living nearby have also expressed concerns about the plant.
