Fire safety advice to caravan owners

Caravan owners and campers are being reminded to take fire safety seriously as the Easter holidays get underway.

After two caravan fires in the last two weeks in Mablethorpe and Holbeach, Shona Wright, Lincolnshire’s community fire safety manager, had this advice:

· Park vans no less than three meters apart.

· Never use fuel-burning devices inside a caravan.

· Ensure you have working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms fitted.

· Never leave cooking appliances unattended.

. Don’t leave children alone.
