Firefighter receives special award for services to the community

A retained firefighter from Corby Glen has been awarded a British Empire Medal for his services to the community.

Brian Walsingham, 67, was awarded the BEM award in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List having carried out 50 years of service for Corby Glen Fire Station.

Brian was presented with his award by the Lord Lieutenant of Lincolnshire, Toby Dennis, at Corby Glen Fire Station last month.

The special ceremony was attended by Brian’s fellow fire personnel, friends and family who were all extremely proud.
