Firefighters will go on strike on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve over an on-going dispute over pensions.

Members of the Fire Brigades Union, including those in Lincolnshire, will strike from 7pm to midnight on Tuesday - Christmas Eve, from 6.30pm to 12.30am on New Year’s Eve, and from 6.30am to 8.30am on January 3.

The union has been on strike several times since the end of September as it fears Government plans to raise the pension age for firefighters from 55 to 60 will put lives at risk. An emergency response cover has always been provided during the strike action.
