Castle Cement in Ketton applies to Rutland County Council for permission to keep quarrying after 2026

Castle Cement is applying for permission to keep digging in Ketton beyond 2026.

Existing planning permission says quarrying should stop on December 31, 2026, but an application to Rutland County Council says: "It is now clear that significant permitted mineral reserves will remain to be worked by that date."

The application can be viewed and commented on here.
