Flood alert on River Welland at Stamford and Market Deeping




Flood alerts are in force in Stamford and Market Deeping as a result of high river levels.

The River Welland through Stamford is flowing at a very high level, with the monitoring station at Hudds Mill showing the water at a high level and rising.

Meanwhile, the river is also very high at Tallington.

Although there is a flood alert for Market Deeping in force this morning (Tuesday, February 18), the level of the River Welland there is now falling.

The area at Market Deeping is known as the 'Lower Welland' area, while Stamford falls into the 'River Welland' area.

Flood alerts are also in force for the 'East and West Glens' area which includes Toft, Edenham and the Bythams, and for the 'Lower Glen and Bourne Eau' at Bourne.
