A flood warning, meaning flooding is expected, immediate action required, has been issued by the Environment Agency for properties near the River Witham in North Witham

The EA said that the river had reacted to recent rainfall but the flood warning is proactively issued on a forecast to give time to prepare. However, it is not certain that the threshold for flooding will be reached.

The warning is for North Witham including Bull Lane and Water Lane and was issued at 11.09am today, Wednesday March 9.

There is also a flood alert, meaning flooding is possible, along the River Witham and its tributaries from Claypole to Lincoln.

The Environment Agency advises anyone wanting more information call Floodline on 0345 988 1188, select option 1 and enter Quickdial number 0313355.
