The full statement said: "Unfortunately one of our first team players has tested positive for Covid 19 after presenting with symptoms on Sunday.

"Our committee, players, opposition and officials have all been informed and advised of their responsibilities and the player will now self isolate.

"The club will be performing a deep clean of the facilities ahead of Wednesdays reserve fixture and will be taking advice on what our next steps are. Stay safe everyone."

The reserves are due to play Huntingdon Reserves at home tomorrow (October 21).

The Wakes were last in action at home on Saturday, with the game against Bugbrooke finishing in a 2-2 draw.

The first team's next fixture is away to Aylestone Park on Saturday (October 24).

It comes as the number of positive cases in the district rose again and another death was sadly confirmed in South Kesteven.
