A minute’s silence was held at a Bourne Town Council meeting last night (Tuesday, February 2) in honour of a former mayor.

Trevor Holmes lost his battle with cancer on Saturday (January 30). He was 75.

Mr Holmes had a seat with Bourne Town Council until the elections in May last year when he opted not to stand. He held the position of mayor of Bourne during 2003/04 and again in 2009/10.

He had previously also had a seat on South Kesteven District Council.

Mr Holmes was also closely involved in the Butterfield Centre.
