A group of former pupils and teaching staff from the 1970 school year at Bluecoat School in Stamford, held a special reunion on Thursday, last week.

Current head teacher, Carol Hines met with the group and gave them a private tour of the school in Green Lane, Stamford. The Stamford Bluecoat School was originally founded as a charity school in the 18th century.

Organiser, Gary Smith said: “It all went very well. It was especially nice to sit in our old classroom with Mr Burks out front.

“Carol made us feel very welcome and we all enjoyed the tour of the school.”

Another reunion has already been planned in four years time to celebrate 50 years since the class left Stamford’s Bluecoat School.

Those who attended the reunion are pictured above.

They include, on the back row (from left to right) David Knowles, Gary Smith, Susan Cook, Karen Jackson, Raymond Tyers,Arthur Ingram and Alan Todd.
