Free event being hosted at Rutland Showground is aimed at disabled people who need help to live independently
A free event is being hosted tomorrow (Wednesday, October 23) for people who need extra help to live independently whatever your age or disability
Choice Unlimited is aimed at disabled children, young people and adults. It’s also for older people and anyone who cares or works with people who need extra help.
It brings together many of the agencies and business organisations that provide information, services, activities and products for people with disabilities and older people. It will also help you find out more about what is available in Rutland and neighbouring counties.
This year, the Choices Unlimited event, which is free for everyone to attend, is being held at the Rutland Showground on Wednesday, October 23, from midday until 6pm. Refreshments will be available to purchase.
Free transport to and from the event for people living in Rutland is available. To book the free transport phone or text 07973 855246 before midday today (Tuesday, October 22).
This year organisers have increased the space available, to enable us to have more exhibitors and more room to move round the exhibition and activities.
There will be free activities throughout the afternoon for all ages.
The event is being delivered by LCIL (Leicestershire Centre for Integrated Living) and the local stake holders, the Rutland Choice Unlimited Working Group. The sponsors for this year’s event are the National Lottery, Tesco Bags of Help, Rutland Mistletoe Fair, Irwin Mitchell Solicitors, KIdzco, ATT GB Ltd, The Old Plough (Braunston), and McCarthy and Stone.
