LEARN MOREFamily friends are hoping to raise money for two charities by completing a skydive.
Rose Taylor-Jackson, 18, from Bourne and John Spencer-Wing, 50, from Morton will be completing a skydive on July 25 to raise money for charities close to their hearts.
Rose’s mum bought her a skydive for her 18th birthday and John was gifted one by his wife for his 50th.
Rose is raising money for Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance to follow in the footsteps of her late grandad, who did a lot for the charity.
Rose said: “I’m excited, It’s going to be thrilling to jump out of a aeroplane. It is something I have always wanted to try.”
So far, Rose has managed to raise £60 out of a goal of £250 for the charity.
John has chosen to support Breast Cancer UK as it is a charity which provides support to people with an issue close to his heart.
His mum had breast cancer twice and his wife has had a scare.
“I have always wanted to do a skydive,” John said.
“My family was with Rose’s family one night and we got to talking about skydives.
“We decided that if we were going to do one, we were always going to do it for a good cause.”
So far, John has raised £200 from sponsor forms.
