County council leader tells residents of Rutland to stay at home

Having moved from tier 2 with pubs and restaurants allowed to open to a full lockdown in the space of five days, Rutlanders are now being told to 'stay at home'.

On new year's eve, Rutland moved from tier 2 into tier 3, and was noticeable on maps of the UK as looking like a lone island in a sea of tier 4 areas.

Now the third national lockdown has begun today (Tuesday, January 5), meaning people should stay at home to prevent the spread of coronavirus and protect NHS hospitals from being swamped by patients.
