Community groups in Bourne came together on Saturday to hold a summer gala to raise money for the Butterfield Centre.

The event organised by Friends of Butterfield was well attended and visitors were able to enjoy a wide selection of stalls at Bourne Abbey Church Hall.

There were raffles, plant stalls, bric-a-brac and refreshments on offer.

Chairman of the Butterfield Day Care Centre Jane Kingman said: “A lot of people came in and out throughout the day and it was very much enjoyed by everyone who came.

“All kinds of different organisations gave their services for free.

“The Friends of Butterfield are brilliant and the Butterfield is very well loved in the town, not just because it helps the elderly but because it really cares for them.”
