Balaclava clad thieves rammed and robbed a van at a Peterborough service station.

The incident took place at the Haddon services on the A1 on Tuesday (February 9).

Offenders wearing balaclavas driving a silver Peugeot and a silver BMW drove up to the victims’ silver van at about 7.40pm forcing it to stop.

A passenger left the Peugeot and smashed the van driver’s window before ramming into the vehicle.

The victims made attempts to drive away before leaving their vehicle, at which point people wearing balaclavas entered the back of the van and took various bags including money.

PC Kellymarie Harman said: “This incident took place at a busy service station on the A1. I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
