GCSE results 2020: Uppingham Community College

The principal of Uppingham Community College wrote to all of his school’s GCSE students urging them not to let anyone tell them their results are ‘meaningless’.

Ben Solly wrote the heartfelt message after exams had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, meaning pupils have received grades based on their teachers’ assessment.

He wrote: “Your year group have been truly magnificent throughout your time here and you are a huge credit to yourselves, your families and our school. For the three years I have worked with you, you have been a joy to teach and to lead and I know you will all go onto to achieve wonderful things in your lives.
